Conflicts of racism and language
The Audre Lorde's essay relates about the different kind of women, feminist racisms, because this is a feminist theory, different kind of woman character. Like for example, lesbians, white and black women, even the Third World women. Now, she talks with the right for each kind of woman. For example, "Those of us who stand outside the circle of this society's definition of acceptable women;
those of us who have been forged in the crucibles of difference, those of us who are
poor, who are lesbians, who are Black, who are older, know that survival is not an
academic skill. It is learning how to take our differences and make them strengths", it means that now every woman begin with revolution. It relates about against from anything to bit, like white men, Americans as white men, even white women, etc. This is what Audre talks about racism feminists as Black women reveal themselves as who they are.
"For the master's tools will never dismantle the master's house. They may allow us temporarily to beat him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring about genuine change. And this fact is only threatening to those women who still define the master's house as their only source of support.”
There are some connections between these two stories, like some things in common. For example, there are some relationships that make similar to Section III, like "Racism affects all of our lives, but it is only white women who can 'afford' to remain oblivious to these effects"(58), which means that the black women would show that they can whatever they may be affected, to show that there would not be differences, or showing their own racism, that they have the right of everything they want, like the white women do.
There is a connection between Audre Lorde's essay and the Chapter 5. It is about the difference, as racism.For example, racism languages, because there is a kind of tongue from speaking Spanish through English. This is a kind of the different people because there are many Americans that may not like people who speak Spanish, or who are Mexicans. There are some conflicts that relates with people of America, like "Wild tongues can't be tamed, they can only be cut out" (82). This is a kind of people like "Chicano", because there are some words that people of English language don't understand, or don't tolerate how that person speak in Spanish tongue way. However, Gloria talks about how to handle and avoid, which means teaching some mexicans speaking English. Like "Que vale toda su educacion si todavia hablas ingles con un accent" (76) "A language which they can connect their identity to, one capable of communicating the realities and values true to themselves-a language with terms that are neither español ni ingles, but both" (77) means that if one speak spanish, the person who speaks english would know him/her.
